Welcome to my pet photography blog. I have never blogged about my work as a pet photographer before, so I decided after the passing of our 13 yr old Rottweiler Rocky, that I would start putting my thoughts in a blog in memory of him.
Losing a pet can be just as hard as losing a human family member. In fact, they are our family members.
Losing a pet can be just as hard as losing a human family member. In fact, they are our family members.
They give unconditional love & companionship & ask for nothing in return. I have had pets all of my life & can't imagine my life without them. They bring so much joy to our lives & yes sometimes frustration too when they chew a whole in a blanket the size of a Frisbee, chew the cord on the vacuum cleaner or chase the cats all over the house. Some people wonder why they should invest in professional pet portraits.
Before I became a photographer or even knew anything about photography, I was always photographing my pets with the camera I had & the results were always horrible! I couldn't get the dogs to stay still long enough to get a decent picture & on the rare occasions I did, I had to use a flash & the pet's eyes were always these bright circles of just white light & my pet's natural eye color was no where to be found. Once I became a photographer, I decided that I was going to make sure that I took as many photographs of my pets as I possibly could.
There has never hardly been a time (especially while my Rocky was alive) that I don't have my camera in my pet's face. They have become used to it & will even pose for me sometimes. It has been almost two months since we said goodbye to our beloved best friend Rocky & I have many BEAUTIFUL photographs to remember him by & they are absolutely priceless!! So my answer to everyone that asks why Pet portraits is think of how much loyalty & companionship your pet brings to you & your family's life & invest in a professional portrait of them so that when it's time for you & your family to tell your precious loved one & family member goodbye, you will have the most valuable possession that is work millions in your heart!
